The college has a library with a collection of approximately more than 17,000 books besides magazines and journals for the use of students, Faculty members and for the staff which is increasing its stock every session, located on the ground floor of the main building, is equipped with air conditioned reading room facility for students and teachers. After admission, a student has to follow library notice for library card. Student has to apply for library card with stamp size colour photograph. student has to produce their Admission Fee Receipt to the Library for collecting their Library Card within the notified time. Students are issued library card. Library rules are clearly stated in the college prospectus. Old students of the college doing postgraduate courses elsewhere are allowed to use the library only for reference purposes with special permission from the Principal as well as from Librarian. The State Government also released funds for the procurement of books and journals for the College Library. Students can now access searching and browsing options and can also use the internet in the library.
Reference section of the library contains primary sources of information that is original resources, such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, atlases, and reference handbooks. The reference shelves are separate from the other shelves. Take special care to note that they actually are in the reference section.Faculty members are mostly used this section.
These materials are usually used to find facts or provide broad overviews of topics. They should not be used as major sources for papers or other projects. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibliographies, and style guides are some of the most common reference materials found in the Library’s Reference Collection.
Computerisation and networking of the University Library has been undertaken under the INFLIBNET programme of the UGC. The University Library has started automation of the library activities using SOUL, a versatile and user-friendly software from INFLIBNET Centre.
